Hello There!  Thanks for visiting.  I'm Melissa Kojima, a Los Angeles based, illustrator, designer and dreamer who believes in play!  I've created my best work when I've been playing like for the Los Angeles Times Newspaper, illustrating the children's section, and Loyola Marymount University, making fantastical, animal, paper mache, opera masks for their opera department. Play has helped me get over my fear of making mistakes and helped me connect to playful folks like you!  My retro vintage paper play artwork has sold at the Santa Monica Museum of Art and the Japanese American National Museum.  Because I believe in the power of play, I create paper play goods for everyone to play with.  Do you believe in play too?

Most everything I've blogged about has to do with paper, play and retro vintage fun.  I believe when we're playing we connect in more meaningful ways; we let go of pain and we accept ourselves for the way we are.  Play allows us to explore, experiment and come up with innovative ideas for all of life's challenges.  So I've used this Wonderland of Paper Play Blog to gather a mountain of playful treasures.  You'll find DIY paper craft projects, circus animals, woodland animals and lots of paper toys, paper puppets and paper dolls at the Artist in LA LA Land Blog.  Are you a kid at heart?  Or do you want to reconnect to play?  Then you'll have fun exploring this paper play blog.  It's my love letter to play and it's my way to bring more play to you!
