About Me

Hello There!  Thanks for visiting.  I'm Melissa Kojima, an illustrator, designer and artist who believes in play!  I create my best work when I play.  Play helps me relax and get over my fear of making mistakes and my shyness so I can connect to playful, interesting folks like you!  My designs and artwork have shown and sold at the Santa Monica Museum of Art and the Japanese American National Museum.  Because I believe in the power of play, I create playful art, designs and illustration for you (see my shop and free printables) and my clients (see a list of some of my clients below).

I've been blogging since 2007.  My blog has changed a lot since then.  At first, I just blogged about art or anything artistic that interested me which was a broad range of artwork and topics.  Over the years, I've become more focused on what I want to do with my blog.  Now, I blog about paper art & crafts, the power of play and my own paper art, design and illustration projects.  I used to blog several times a week.  It has become a little harder since I've been doing more projects with some great clients.  Now, I'm still committed to my blog and I blog at least once a week on Sundays.
